Ricky`s Fish Tacos in Los Angeles

This place!! It’s amazing - nothing fancy - they literally have 3 items on the menu which I LOVE. It’s like they’re not trying to be anything else but a place that serves amazing fish (and shrimp) tacos. Great drinks. Great salsa. Great music. Chill vibe. The two gentlemen working there were hilarious and provided great service. Will be a regular here. Come and support this place!

One would think that a place a call to itself the best fish tacos etc would not necessarily have the best tacos in the area. This is my go-to place when I am in silverlake or Los Feliz area. The fish shrimp tacos are amazing services really fast and the prices are according to the value. I just noticed that they have a Groupon that makes it even cheaper and therefore it becomes even a better deal. I would highly recommend this place as it removes you from Los Angeles and puts you in Mexico for the time you are dining.

Some of the best fish tacos I've ever had. Plus, as a family-owned spot, the employees are super pleasant. They also have monthly Comedy Nights (can't remember when they normally happen), which are FREE. And if they are not sold out when you get there, you have to ask for the potato log–just trust.

The name says it all ...these tacos are delicious. Try all three - fish, shrimp and the potato. The salsa bar is wonderfully eclectic. The corn is great and true to their boast, they do have the best lemonade. Plus, its hard to spend more than 10 dollars here.

Fresh fish tacos made on the spot. The staff are super chill and the simple and fresh fish and shrimp tacos are the perfect lunch. At this price point you can get a filing lunch without breaking the bank. If you live in Hollywood, K town, or Los Feliz, this place is basically right around the corner. I highly recommend!

This is the best place in California. Period! I often drive more than half hour from Beverlywood to get there. I love this place so much! Cheap. Amazing. Nice people. You can bring booze in. Just amazing. Cannot say enough good about this place, seriously! I love it so much!

Sooooo good! Tacos are basic, sauces are full of flavor. My fave are the papa tacos. Prices are fair. Definitely be coming back.

I am finding myself to be attracted towards restaurants like this, having a simple menu and yet it has raving good reviews. I came here with my friends for the first time because we had heard that it was good and we were not disappointed. I got the fish taco and the potato taco with an horchata for less than $5 and I got full! Talk about budgeting wisely and great quality! I don't like Fish at all but this place was delicious! Their selection of salsas are very great, I just wish they had a side of Guacamole that has a consistency of thickness and not a watery consistency but overall even without that, it's a great place to eat. It's an LA must!

Truly some of the very best fish tacos I've ever had. Love this mom and pop shop, a perfect stop for a casual and delicious lunch, cheap too! A self serve topping station really seals the deal too.

I’m sorry I don’t know who the hell would say this is the best fish tacos or shrimp tacos???? Major fail fish tacos is definitely 5/10 and shrimp tacos is 4/10. Horchata taste too much like powder. I’m sorry the name shouldn’t be best tacos in Ensenada. It’s not even the best tacos in a 1 mile radius.

The energy of this place is unreal. The owner and staff are undeniably awesome people who create a unique environment for anyone eating here. Best fish tacos? Hell yes they are, and best company in terms of people too. Definitely definitely will eat here again and you should too if you want a great experience all around.

Been to Ensenada and had similar tacos. Good flavor. Potato tacos were different and had good flavor. Glad they opened back up.

So cheap and yet somehow SO good. They have free comedy shows once a month which are stellar! Occasionally you’ll get an A-List comedian who shows up. Their selection of sauces are fantastic and I could eat those tacos all dang day.Once after the comedy night was ending, I drunkenly left my satchel under the chair. Itcontained some valuable things along with some very sentimental things that I could never replace. I was nearly crushed as one of my late father’s final gifts to me was in there. I jaunted now there the moment it opened and the a lady who spoke very little English was opening. Not only did she recognize me from the night before, pulled out my bag, didn’t take a single thing, but also gave me a nice big hug when I broke down crying of relief (these fluctuating highs and lows were very much from the hangover, lol).All in all, this place is solid, cheap, delicious, and completely worthy your time.

The menu is dead simple: fish, shrimp, or potato tacos. Each under $3 and drinks are $1. The salsa bar has about 6-7 options and they were all great. The seating isn't that good for groups, but if you're grabbing lunch alone or can take it to-go, it's a great choice!

Great tacos, perfectly breaded. Awesome salsa options and everything is cooked fresh to order. In my opinion the shrimp are better than the fish. Ask for the green tortillas and I recommend the mango habanero salsa.

It's pretty good what I have learned it's not to put too much stuff on your tacos it gives a weird flavor to just keep it simple and they will be great

I hate to let the secret out. This place is amazing! Short and sweet menu, wait, and tab. Super inexpensive and food is amazing. The zero parking anywhere around it really sucks but worth the walk!

I liked this little fish taco joint. I came early for lunch on a Friday. Service was very friendly. They take credit cards. I enjoyed the ambience. They had Spanish-speaking music playing in the background. The place was a tad dark but clean. They have a salsa bar with salsas that you won’t find anywhere else. Try adding the cabbage. That’s how these type of tacos are eaten. Something I missed was the chipotle dressing, it is perfect for these tacos. Somebody in another post mentioned they had it but somehow I couldn’t find it. They had sweet cream. They also had agua de Tamarindo, de horchata and de jamaica. The quality of the food could be a tad better to make it a better experience, but for the prices they had it was more than enough.

I love this place it is simple and delicious. There is less than 10 items on the menu including drinks. Fish taco, shrimp tacos, potato taco, corn on the cob, and the rest I don’t remember. That’s how simple this place is. Don’t get me wrong simple does not translate to the food flavorings. After you get your tacos, bring it to the salas bar. There are 5 different kind of salas, creme, and shredded cabbage that you can add to your tacos. Delicious I say! I hope you enjoy your experience as much as I did.

Went here for the first time in a long time! Still the same great tacos I had a few times about five years ago! Fish, shrimp and potato tacos and plenty of salsas to choose from! Always enjoy the tacos there!!

I love the simplicity of these tacos. Perfectly fried fish in a crunchy batter, served in one two. You can then add from the plethora of home made salsa. Even without the salsa they're perfectly edible and tasty. Worth stopping in.

Maybe not the best.. but good. Unfortunately the oil was too hot or old and the fish and the shimps batter was way too burn. Nice salsas to build your taco. Very cute rustic environment.. hard to find parking.

Used a Groupon here for a really nice shared lunch with the wife. It was our first time in, so obviously had to try the fish and shrimp tacos. But then they have tasty side items like pork taquitos, elites, etc. I mean, pretty much everything we ordered came deep fried, but it's not like that was a huge surprise. Definitely worth checking out if you've never been. Also convenient to walkable shopping & restaurants on Hillhurst and Vermont. Owner is the one taking your order behind the counter, too, which is always something I respect.

Hands down one of the best fish tacos I have had in a while. Simple ingredients, build your own toppings bar with a superb salsa selection, what more could you ask for? Three employees slinging up some great food. I love this place.We had two of the fish and two of the shrimp tacos and a horchata. I will say the horchata was not the best, but the tacos had us ask for them to whirl us up three more. The salsa had a good kick, but fresh and sweet flavors. I should have ordered more, but I wanted to pace myself!

Fish tacos are excellent and the potato log is good as well. I recommend trying the radish salsa and hot mango. Probably all good but those are what I go for. With a squirt of crema. Good tamarind drink. All inexpensive.

I ended up getting everything and I was not disappointed. Fast service, decent seating inside and outside.

Awesome fish tacos. Simple menu: fish or shrimp tacos made to order. Dress it up yourself with homemade salsa. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Really quick too so can be in and out Ina few minutes for a few bucks!!! Tasty!!

The tacos were sooo good! Juicy yet crispy battered pieces of fish. Not too pricey considering the part of town. Served with crema for the extra yum! Fast service great for quick lunch. Small menu so don't come here if not a fan of tacos.

Didn't find them all that great. Batter was soggy rather than crunchy which was very disappointing. Service was pretty good though. A local recommended the spot so I imagine this was probably an anomaly.

Gotta love a place that only has three things but does them exceptionally well. Prices are mad reasonable and the salsa bar is solid, each with a cute little name and description ("the most refreshing attitude you'll put in your mouth" or "like a French kiss but it lasts longer" come to mind). Interior and patio are super charming too, but this is definitely more of a pick-up place than somewhere you hang out at, especially if it's crowded. Food is bangin tho, and dollar horchata, whaaaaa??

I’ve never been to Mexico (gasp!) but imma trust this place lives up to the name because their fish tacos are BOMB. The shrimp tacos are also fantastic. They have special seasonal items too, we got the taquitos which were a nice addition to the meal. Self serve salsa bar. Such a bargain too at ~$2 each AND they always have constant deals on Groupon. Don’t forget to check in on Yelp for a free agua fresca!

Genuinely has the best fish tacos Ive ever had in LA, or anywhere (so far!). And for less than $2 per taco, it is hard not to come back here every day... Do it! You will not be disappointed.
